Repositioning The Watch House as Bridport’s destination for wood-fired pizza and fresh pasta

The Watch House in Bridport had undergone several transformations over the years, leaving customers unsure of what it was and who it was for.

While competitors carved out clear identities—a Cornish bakery, a riverside café bar, the local chippy—the Watch House lacked a defined position. That changed with the arrival of award-winning pizza chef Matthew Ryles, who, alongside chef Will Hickton, developed a menu rooted in the flavours of Italy, centred around Neapolitan wood-fired pizza and fresh pasta.

To support this shift, I redesigned the website to reflect a more focused and authentic identity, shaped by time spent in the restaurant itself. This direction carried through into the menu design and a suite of bespoke photography, created to capture the atmosphere and inspire guests to visit.
